Legacy giving is not paperwork. It is a declaration of values—an intentional decision to help protect what matters long after we are gone.
At the Wolf Education & Research Center, those conversations are handled personally, carefully, and without pressure. Whether you are considering a bequest, beneficiary designation, charitable trust, or another planned gift, we will work alongside you—and, when appropriate, your professional advisors—at your pace.
Why legacy gifts matter
Wolf conservation, education, and public trust are not built in election cycles or fundraising seasons. They are built across generations.
A legacy gift helps ensure that the stories, science, outreach, publications, and stewardship that shaped this organization continue serving students, families, policymakers, and future conservation leaders long after today’s work is done.
For many supporters, planned giving becomes one final act of leadership—an opportunity to leave behind not simply resources, but conviction.
Ways a legacy gift can be structured
- A bequest in your will — often the simplest approach, whether through a fixed amount, percentage, or specific asset.
- A beneficiary designation — through retirement accounts, life insurance policies, donor-advised funds, or similar instruments.
- A charitable trust — including charitable remainder or charitable lead trusts, depending on your goals.
- A tangible asset — such as real estate, securities, collections, or other property, reviewed individually.
We do not replace your attorney, financial advisor, or tax professional. We work with them.
What happens when you reach out
When you contact us, the process begins with a conversation—not a sales pitch.
We can discuss your charitable goals, explain how restricted or unrestricted gifts may be used, provide sample language your attorney may adapt, and answer questions about long-term stewardship of your gift.
Sometimes the best next step is to think, pray, talk with family, or meet with your advisors.
